A Year in Review: edtech.direct’s Highlights of 2024

As the year draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the incredible milestones and events that shaped 2024 for edtech.direct. From exciting product launches to key events across the UK, we’ve had a vibrant year connecting with educators and sharing groundbreaking innovations in educational technology. Here’s a roundup of our standout moments.

March: Spotlight on Dyslexia Support at Birmingham’s Dyslexia Show
We kicked off spring by showcasing the Lili for Life Lamp and Nuance Hearing device at the Dyslexia Show in Birmingham, the UK’s national exhibition dedicated to dyslexia and neurodiversity. This event allowed us to connect with passionate teachers and specialists focused on dyslexia support. These technologies, designed to enhance focus and accessibility, drew attention for their innovative approaches to learning challenges.

ICT Shows Across the UK
This year, edtech.direct proudly attended five ICT for education conferences, presenting solutions from KLIK, IPEVO, and IMT Lazarus. These events highlighted the importance of adaptive, collaborative tools in modern classrooms. From IPEVO’s interactive teaching aids to IMT Lazarus’s cybersecurity solutions for schools, we helped teachers explore technology that enhances learning experiences.

Empowering SENCOs at the Moon Hall Event
In an intimate gathering of SEN professionals, we showcased Lili for Life and Nuance Hearing technologies at the Moon Hall SENCO event. The platform allowed us to demonstrate the profound impact these tools can have in supporting students with special educational needs.

Dr. Helen Ross’s Groundbreaking Research
Dr. Helen Ross, a leading expert in educational psychology, provided compelling insights into the efficacy of Nuance Hearing and Lili for Life. Her research has been pivotal in solidifying the importance of these tools in enhancing classroom environments and supporting students with diverse needs.

The Launch of the AVID AVIGA Gaming Headset at GamesFest
One of our most exciting product launches this year was the AVID AVIGA gaming headset, introduced at GamesFest at Portsmouth Guildhall. The headset combines premium audio with durability tailored to educational gaming and e-sports initiatives. The positive reception confirmed its role in shaping the future of gaming in education.

TES SEND Show in London
At the TES SEND Show, we again highlighted the capabilities of the Lili for Life Lamp and Nuance Hearing, underscoring their effectiveness in inclusive education. These tools continue to provide accessible solutions for teachers and students tackling learning differences.

Dyslexia IOW Conference and Positive Dyslexia Liverpool
Our focus on dyslexia extended to the Dyslexia IOW Conference, where we showcased Lili for Life and Ghotit – a tool for dyslexia and dysgraphia support. Later in November, at the Positive Dyslexia event in Liverpool, we brought Nuance Hearing and Lili for Life to the forefront, connecting with teachers committed to transforming the lives of students with dyslexia.

Grand Opening of Our New EdTech Showroom
In one of the year’s proudest moments, we opened our brand-new edtech.direct showroom. Designed as a hub for teachers to experience cutting-edge tools firsthand, our first event, ‘Tech and Tea’, welcomed local teachers to explore our technology while enjoying a warm cuppa.

Looking ahead, our showroom will play a central role in connecting local schools with the latest EdTech solutions.

Exciting New Partnerships
We expanded our portfolio with dynamic brands like KLIK and Boox, offering advanced solutions in interactive technology and digital reading. These partnerships reaffirm our commitment to providing diverse tools for the ever-evolving educational landscape.

Looking Ahead to 2025

2024 has been a year of growth, innovation, and meaningful connections. As we move into 2025, we’re excited to build on this momentum, introducing even more pioneering technologies and hosting events to empower teachers and students alike.
